NOTEWORTHY CHARACTERISTICS

Agastache ‘Black Adder’ is also known as Giant Hyssop or Hummingbird mint. It is an upright, clump-forming perennial that grows 2-3 feet tall. Long blooming (June – September) tubular red-violet flowers that attract bees, hummingbird, and butterflies. It is a member of the mint family and has aromatic, licorice-scented foliage.  Native to the southwestern United States and Mexico.

 

PROBLEMS

No serious insect or disease problems. It is deer and rabbit resistant.

 

GARDEN USES

Sunny borders, butterfly gardens, cottage gardens and as a cut flower.
