Grows in full sun to part shade in a well-drained medium, moist soil.  It is tolerant of heat and humidity.

 

NOTEWORTHY CHARACTERISTICS

Crocosmia ‘Lucifer’ also known as Falling Stars is native to Africa. This is a clump-forming bulb with tubular scarlet red flowers that attract hummingbirds and blooms from June to August.

 

PROBLEMS

Spider mites can cause damage to foliage.

 

GARDEN USES

Provides color and contrast to perennial gardens.  Can be planted in containers and makes a good cut flower.
