AN ARTIST’S NATURE: THE WORK OF RON BECKER

June 29 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 11:00am on Sunday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until July 28, 2018

Raised in western New York, Ron Becker showed artistic talent at an early age, which was supported and nurtured by his parents and teachers. He majored in art at Niagara County Community College, helping to solidify techniques in drawing and painting. A move to Florida took his life in another direction and career but Ron always found ways to utilize his artistic talents and express his creativity in visual mediums.
For the past 5 years, Ron has been the President of the Deer Park Arts Council, a non-profit charity that advocates for and supports the visual and performing arts in the Deer Park School District. Ron has used his college training in the arts to create and offer drawing and painting classes for residents in nursing homes. His students’ achievements inspired Ron to seriously return to his passion for art and for the last seven years has been painting in oil and acrylics.
His work had been exhibited in a variety of galleries on Long Island and at the RIVAA Gallery in NYC. He has won several awards in juried shows and is currently creating an exhibit on social justice issues. He currently studies iconography with Janine Manheim and continues to explore new techniques and materials to enhance and refine his artistic voice and vision.
He is excited and grateful to exhibit his work at the beautiful Estate Mansion at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum, a location that reflects the beauty of nature that is a theme in Ron’s work.
